The coffee comes from the El Vapor farm located in the Dota Valley at an altitude of 1700 m above sea level. This altitude provides excellent conditions for the growth of cherries and has a sparkling acidity and a beautifully fruity taste. The coffee was processed at the Fatima washing station. This mill in the Los Santos region is owned and operated by Mercurio Industrial. Mercurio Industrial bought the farm 43 years ago, but they have only been processing the choice coffee since 2020, thanks to an initiative by Nelsyn Hernandez. Nelsyn has focused a lot on harnessing the potential of the farms and introducing the best farming practices into the processes. He has also looked after the farmer’s plants all year round not just during the harvest season. Over the years he has planted many new varieties on the farm including Bourbon, Villa Sarchi, Geisha and Hybrids. Today he is very pleased with the great results the farm has produced after many years of hard work. He is always looking for new ways to improve and develop the project in a sustainable way.
